Removal of residents from East Port-of-Spain will destroy hundreds of small businesses, which have developed over the years, to supply services to the area.

However, when the residents are removed, even if all those who run small businesses are returned, they will never be able to restart their businesses, because the configuration of the area has been changed.

All residents who are removed from this low income area will now have the cost of transportation added to their expenses and they will also join the mass of people who fight their way in and out of the city daily.
