News anchor hurt in accident

CABLE News Centre (CNC) anchor woman Shelly-Ann Dass spent Monday night warded at San Fernando General Hospital (SFGH) where she was treated for injuries sustained from a vehicular accident.

Her car ran off the Solomon Hochoy Highway on the south-bound lane on Monday night. Dass, 30, was heading to her Gopaul Lands, Marabella home driving in a blue Volkswagen Bora motorcar around 9.55 pm, a police report stated.

On reaching Mc Aulay Overpass, the report stated, Dass swerved left to avoid colliding with another vehicle. Dass, the report stated, lost control of the vehicle which ran off the road. She crashed onto the shoulder on the highway.

St Margaret’s police responded almost immediately. An Emergency Health Services ambulance took Dass to the SFGH. She was treated by doctors for whiplash, but was admitted overnight on Ward Three for observation. PC Bruce is investigating.
