Jack Warner wins on first try

A jubilant Warner, speaking to reporters at Rienzi Complex in Couva last night, said that he expected some upsets in the election results because he always maintained that the Congress of the People (COP) would be the “Spoiler” in the General Election.

Warner said he tried to bring together the COP and UNC Alliance but the attempts failed. According to Warner, COP leader Winston Dookeran and COP campaign manager Gerald Yetming should be given Cabinet posts for the role they played in splitting the votes and ensuringt the PNM formed the new government.
