Homage to hair at trade show

Producing hair styles with names such as “A Touch of China”, Caribbean Breeze”, “Enchanting Moment”, “Wedding Bliss” and “A Landscaped Mohawk Garden”, some YTTEP students from around the country showed their adeptness at using unusual techniques and props.

On hand demonstrating a new hair-colouring technique described as the “tattoo method” were Miriam Santana and Samuel Torres of Tec Italy Hair Dimension studio in Mexico.

Several local companies also displayed their products in booths, including Sasha, The Face and Body Clinic, The Herbarium, Sebastien, Modern Caribbean Enterprises and Hand Arnold, among others.

The trade show, which is open to the public, continues today (Sunday) with an exhibition, a spa presentation and hair and make-up demonstrations.

On Monday, May 19, the show continues with more exhibitor presentations, a hair styling and design competition for professionals and finally an award ceremony in the hotel’s Grand Ballroom.
