Clarke-Andell, a certified dance educator, choreographer and facilitator of the Expressions Dance Workshop for junior dancers and Candice Clark-Andell’s Dance Academy (CCA) for advanced dancers, who has showcased more than 30 dances and is credited for staging various successful productions, said that the production will feature children from three to ten years old and is aimed at giving the young dancers an opportunity to perform and express themselves using their talents and gifts.
“Shine is a fashionable dance exposition, which merges dance and fashion and will be staged by very talented children. Patrons can expect a lot of creativity and fun at this show. Besides raising funds, the production will give my young dancers a chance to express themselves and showcase their natural talent in front of an appreciative audience,” Clarke-Andell said.
The Choreographer noted that the Academy’s goal is to support Dance With a Cause, which was implemented to assist the less fortunate both at home and within the region. The proceeds from Shine, will go towards UNICEF which will go towards their efforts to assist Haiti.
“We are continuing on our mission to facilitate dance education with the aim of building continued self-confidence and self-esteem and overall positive youth development. Part proceeds from Shine will go towards the Academy’s “Creola Scholarship Fund”, geared towards providing dance education and training for children who may not have the financial means to participate fully in dance activities. The Dance Academy has also committed to continuing our mission to Dance with a Cause, where we will donate part proceeds to a worthy cause. Last year we donated to CADV Domestic Violence Organismic under Dianna Mahabir-Wyatt and this year our cause is geared towards Haiti’s children fund and so we will be donating proceeds from the show to UNICEF for that purpose,” Clarke-Andell said.
Clarke-Andell said patrons can expect quality entertainment from the production’s start to finish. She said the young dancers are motivated, fully prepared and are looking forward to the production. The production will be hosted by Clarke-Andell.
