Ministry questions $30M AC units

This was disclosed yesterday while speaking to the media during a break at the School Violence Prevention Seminar at the Fiesta Plaza Banquet and Conference Centre, Invaders Bay.

“Any simple thing can cause a breakdown of it and the entire school can be left without an air- conditioning system so I am going to ask the EFCL to make a recommendation on the four schools waiting to be completed,” he said.

A meeting with EFCL may take place tomorrow.

Gopeesingh also said the Ministry will continue with the pilot project which will study 20 same-sex schools. He said it was difficult to change the plan and students had already been assigned.

“We will evaluate it from time to time,” he said.

A comparison will be made with 20 co-educational schools and looking at the variables at each.
