Cops seize wagonload of ganja trees

A manhunt has since been launched for two men believed to be in their 30s.

According to a police report, at about 4 pm officers, including Cpl Ramsaran, PCs Adesh Ramlochan, Keith Thompson and Narine were on patrol when they observed two men putting something into a parked white wagon.

The report stated that as the police got closer the men ran off into some nearby bushes and escaped. On checking the vehicle, the officers found fully grown marijuana trees packed inside.

Police said there were also stacks of fully grown marijuana trees found on the ground next to the vehicle.

The car was subsequently impounded at the Siparia CID and the trees, weighing 90 kilogrammes were seized.
