Gymnast Browne tops National Level One

The 13-year-old, from Lee’s Gymnastics in Arima, topped the overall points tally in the group with 38.95.

She won the floor routine with 9.8 points to edge her clubmate Kyelle Williams for the top prize.

The ten-year-old Williams, who had a perfect ten to take the vault routine, faltered at the final routine (floor) with a score of 9.6 to finish with 38.9 points, 0.5 below Browne’s tally.

In their individual routines, Browne had 9.9 on the vaults, 9.55 on the bars and 9.7 on the beam while Williams had 9.6 on the bars and 9.7 on the beam.

Celina Rae Sheppard, an eight-year-old from the renowned Tots and Tumblers, was third overall in Level One with 38.85 points. She won the beam routine with 9.8 and followed up with scores of 9.9 (vault), 9.6 (bars)and 9.55 (floor).

Daniella Boucaud of Olympia Gymnastics Academy was fourth on 38.25 while, sharing fifth spot, were Danielle Tavares of Mucurapo Artistic Achievers Gymnastics Club and Lena Browne of Tots and Tumblers - both on 38.05.

Charlotte Farah of Tots and Tumblers, who had the best performance on the bars with 9.7, was seventh overall on 37.95, 0.05 points below sixth-placed Shaniya Worrell of Mucurapo Artistic.
