Rowley: PP ‘thinly disguised UNC cabal’

Rowley said Persad-Bissessar’s remark that the PP is stronger now that the MSJ has left its ranks, proves that the PP “was always a UNC cabal.”

In a statement, Rowley declared, “The MSJ withdrawal from the so-called People’s Partnership is nothing more than the exercise of a conscience vote against the unacceptable behaviour of this rampant, self-serving UNC.”

He further declared the MSJ’s departure from the PP “clearly makes nonsense of Prime Ministerial bravado which so often proclaims that they are more united than ever.” Rowley, the People’s National Movement (PNM) political leader, claimed the PP “is nothing more than a thinly disguised UNC cabal hiding behind an embarrassed veil of disposable facilitating groups.”

Rowley said public attention now turns to what action the Congress of the People (COP) will take now that the MSJ has removed itself from the coalition.
