During her feature address at the launch of the Professional Culinary Classics IV at the Cascadia Hotel, Alleyne-Toppin who is also the Member of Parliament for Tobago East, told the gathering that Government alone cannot change the lives of people and neither can the Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) sector make an impact without working in partnership with Government.
She was at the time speaking about Government’s expansion of local policies and programmes and the need for partnerships.
Alleyne-Toppin expressed her pleasure that the Trinidad and Tobago Group of Professional Associations (TTGPA) had chosen the Trinidad and Tobago Para Olympic Committee for funding arising out of the culinary event that takes place at the Centre of Excellence on November 17.
“I am impressed with the TTGPA efforts to assist the TT Para Olympic body to bridge this gap,” she said. She also spoke of Government’s policies to assist people with disabilities including food cards, free bus passes, home improvement grants and special scholarships.
