Minister Karim’s wife among 21 pastors ordained
Apostle Austin de Bourg, head of the Trinidad Christian Centre, was also conferred with the Doctorate of Divinity Degree from the International Theological Seminary of California.
Among those present at the ordination and conferment, which took place at the Trinidad Christian Centre at Morne Coco and Simeon Roads in Petit Valley, were former President and Prime Minister Arthur NR Robinson, Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister Rodger Samuels and Minister of Gender, Youth and Child Development Marlene Coudray.
The chief consecrator was Rev Dr Phillip Young, international representative and senior faculty member of the seminary. Young conferred de Bourg with the doctorate.
De Bourg was assisted by Rev David Karmody in ordaining the 21 new ministers.
Seven new ministers of the Trinidad Christian Centre including Dexter George, Ambassador Gloudon, Jacqueline Martinez, William Seedansingh, Leland Dennis, Audrey Charles, Parasram Nehaul and Jennifer Mohammed were ordained.
Also ordained were Judy Karim, Love Christian Centre; Benison Jagessar, Polytechnic of the West Indies; Anna Edwards, Success by Design; Marlene Villafana, Lifting Up The Name of Jesus Revival Ministries; Tony Myram, Seebram Basdeo and Ronnie Sinanan of the Evangelical Church of the West Indies; Renata Williams, Beloved of God; Dora Lau, I Care Christian Centre; Julien Byrus, Righteous Peace and Joy Ministries; Gabriel Pierre and Augustus Glasgow.
In his message to the new spiritual leaders, de Bourg called on the ministers to be good parents.
“If one does not know how to take care of one’s family,” he said, “how can you take care of God’s family?”
