Aviation institute for Couva

Addressing invitees yesterday at the launch of the Masters of Arts in Leadership in Technical and Vocational Education and Training, and Workforce Development at the UWI St Augustine campus, Karim said the aviation institute was being developed in conjunction with six entities — Caribbean Airlines Limited, National Helicopter Services Limited, Civil Aviation Authority, Metal Industries Company Ltd, National Training Agency, and the University of Trinidad and Tobago. The institute, he said, will initially focus on an aircraft maintenance technician programme, avionics, and aircraft overhaul engineering.
