Central Zone make cricket appointments

This was revealed on Thursday at a meeting between the interim management committee headed by Manohar Ramsaran, and club representatives held at Presentation College in Chaguanas.

Ramsaran revealed several significant changes in the administration of the competitions for the new season which has attracted a full complement of eight teams each in the three divisions for which improved prize money and incentives have been pledged.

Among the most important appointments made were five assistant secretaries who are expected to make a significant impact on the efficient administration of the zone as they would have specific responsibility for the three divisions, the T20, and 40-Overs competitions.

Interim secretary of the Central Zone Richard Ramkissoon explained that the assistant secretaries have been tasked with ensuring a smooth flow of information, reports and statistics concerning their respective competitions between the clubs, zone and the TT CB.

He said the move will ensure that all clubs meet the high expectation of the administration whose objective is to keep the major stakeholders connected with each other through the efficient management of cricket data throughout the season.

The assistant secretaries appointed were Brent Morgan (Division One), Vyash Nandlal (Division Two), Raymond Lutchman (Division Three), Sylvan Miguel (T20), and Avinash Suruj (40-Overs).

Ramsaran said that a deadline of January 30 has been set for the registration of players and he urged all clubs to make a concerted effort to work with the Central Zone officials and make the 2016 season a successful one.

It was also announced that training sessions for the Central Zone Under-15 cricketers will start on Tuesday at Presentation College, Chaguanas from 3 pm.

Mulchan Lewis, a member of the U-15 selection panel said that the session will facilitate the start of the annual BGTT Inter-Zone competition carded for January 20.
