Spoilers worm way into Southern Sports T20 final

That’s how the men from Debe wormed their way into the final of the General Earth Movers Limited-sponsored Southern Sports Cricket League T20 final .

First, the Sppoilers men totalled a challenging 166 for for four wickets, led by skipper Timothy Narine with 63, Avalon Cuffy 36 and Krishna Narine 26 .

Sunrise in reply reached 154 for eight wickets, needing another 13 runs for victory in the final over by Narine (T) .

It came down to the last ball, however, and Shivanand Jairam turned the delivery past Imool Khan at fine-leg into the boundary for four to knot up the scores .

Trinidad batsmen Yannic Ottley and Stephen Katwaroo along with Holister Pajotte took to the crease for the super over and managed to score 14 runs .

At stake will be a winner’s prize of $16,000 the beaten finalists will collect $8,000 while the man of the match gets $2,000 and a Sunny SG bat .

Before the final, Valley Line and Sunrise meet in the third place playoff from 4.30 pm .
