PM off to Cuba today

A statement issued by the Office of the Prime Minister said the summit started yesterday and ends tomorrow.

ACS leaders will engage in discussions on the challenges of sustainable development, climate change and peace in the region. Focus will also be placed on the on-going process of harmonisation and the deepening of relations between Cuba and the US.

TT’s participation in the summit also presents a favourable opportunity for this country to solidify existing relations and foster increased co-operation with countries in the greater Caribbean, in areas such as air connectivity and trade relations. In particular, the summit offers additional avenues for TT to deepen its relationship with Cuba with regard to trade and investment opportunities. Finance Minister Colm Imbert will act as Prime Minister until Sunday, when Rowley returns home.
