Auditions for actors

Young directors will work with the assistance of veteran theatre practitioners on three plays that have never been staged before: Miracle by Ronald John, Angels Live in Tunapuna by Sonja Dumas and Hell by Safa Niamat-Ali.

The festival is giving all actors the opportunity to work with theatre legends like Tony Hall, Raymond Choo Kong, Mervyn de Goeas, Penelope Spencer, Christine Johnston, Michael Cherrie, Albert Laveau, Ralph Maraj, Rawle Gibbons, Belinda Barnes, Albert Laveau and Dr Lester Efebo Wilkinson, among others.

It is an opportunity for those who might not otherwise get the chance to appear on a stage or work with individuals with years of experience.

Actors with experience may also apply, said a media release.

The goal of the festival is to foster the growth and continuation of the theatre industry in TT by merging the knowledge and expertise of experienced theatre practitioners with new, upcoming talent.

Interested actors can send a resume, headshot and full body shot to newplayfestivaltt@ hotmail.com.

Auditions are from 10 am to 1 pm. The earlier the audition the better the chance of being chosen.

The annual New Play Festival runs from October 28 - 31 at the Trinidad Theatre Workshop.
