In fact the court maintained that there was no hint of political bias in the decision of the Elections and Boundaries Commission, and that while it exercised authority it did not have, such action had no malicious intent.

If there is a parallel to be drawn, it is comparable to the timing system for a race being defective, and this acknowledged by the authorities, but it does not affect the outcome of the race — Bolt still wins, regardless of the timing system.
