San Juan man shot after cops intercept vehicle

According to reports at about 12.30 am, officers of the Northern Division Task Force, led by Sergeant Ishmael Pitt, were on patrol at Factory Road Piarco when they saw a vehicle with four occupants acting in a strange manner.

When officers attempted to confront the men, the driver sped away with the officers in pursuit.

Police said two of the occupants of the car began shooting at them and they returned fire.

The San Juan man was shot and two of his accomplices escaped.

The teenager remained in serious but stable condition at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex yesterday.

Police investigators say that arrests are imminent for the others.
