PNM selects 14 for polls

PNM General Secretary Ashton Ford said the four chosen so far for the Sangre Grande Regional Corporation are: Toco/Fishing Pond, Martin Terry Rondon; Valencia, Simone Gill; Sangre Grande North West, Elizabeth Wharton; Sangre Grande South, Reynold Peters.

Ford said four other areas remain without a chosen candidate, to be again considered in a fortnight’s time.

These are Vega de Oropouche, Sangre Grande North East, Cumuto/ Manzanilla, and Manzanilla.

The Tunapuna/Piarco candidates are: Auzonville/Tunapuna, Travis Williams; Bon Air/Cane Farm, Paul Leacock; Caura/Tacarigua, Aaron Thomas; La Florissante/Cleaver, Judy Garner; Five Rivers/ Lopinot, Tova-Lin Bartholomew-Sandy; Carapo, Keenan Gibson; Macoya/Trincity, Josiah Austin; Maracas/ Santa Margarita, Martin Gonzales; Mausica/Maloney, Tristan Vonterre; Valsayn/St Joseph, Marcia Chan Pack.

The six areas for which fresh nominees will be considered are Curepe/Pasea, Wallerfield/ La Horquetta, Lopinot/La Florissante, Blanchisseuse/Santa Rosa, St Augustine South/Oropune, Kelly Village/Warrenville.

Today the PNM will screen candidates for the Port-of-Spain City Corporation.
