Four shot in St Augustine drive-by

Reports indicate that mechanic Andre “Lizard” McGregor was in the company of three associates at his O’Keefe Street business, Lizard Car Care Centre, a short distance from the University of the West Indies’ Sport and Physical Education Centre, when a silver panel van and a white Tiida approached them.

Three occupants alighted from the vehicles and opened fire on the men, shooting them several times about the body.

Residents alerted by the gunfire, contacted police who arrived shortly after.

The four wounded men were taken to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in Mt Hope where they are receiving treatment.

Residents say yesterday’s incident has left them shaken as violent crimes are not commonplace in the community.
