Fines for breeding Zika mosquitoes
A Health Ministry statement is advising the public that the fines for unkempt properties or any harbourage that may become a mosquito breeding ground has been increased from $500 to $3,500.
The increase is in keeping with Regulation 27 of the Public Health (Yellow Fever Regulations) 1979, made pursuant to Section 105(1) of the Public Health Ordinance, Chapter 12 No 4, which was recently amended.
Meanwhile, the release said the Caribbean Public Health Agency (Carpha) has confirmed that as of August 25, the number of locally confirmed Zika cases stands at 335.
