Linseed a super food for hair
Taking care of yourself is what we all should do although hair issues are on the rise.
Today, we will focus on the person who has healthy hair and ways in which it can be maintained. For those people who take good care of their body, their hair will grow and flourish naturally. There are several ways for you to maintain healthy hair, through nutrition and special oils/ products that can be used for self-care.
One of the first healthy hair foods is flaxseed, this is also call linseed. When you go to the grocery, the name most people will see on the package is linseed. In the health food store, it will be labelled as flaxseed or some company will grind the flaxseed with other ingredients and call it flaxmeal.
One thing that you should note, is that flaxseed/linseed when ground, should be kept in the refrigerator because once the pods/seeds are cracked open, they can go rancid.
Flaxseed is a good source of Omega 3 fatty acid that is called an essential fatty acid.
Why it is essential is because the body cannot make Omega 3 fatty acids, it must be taken in, by what we eat and drink, as it nourishes the hair follicles and strengthens the hair strands. The hair looks thicker and is less prone to breakage.
Flaxseed also assists people who have itchy scalp and dandruff because its anti-inflammatory and it also promote cardiovascular health by increasing blood circulation, and as we know, healthy hair need a rich oxygenated blood.
Flaxseed is considered a super food for hair when taken daily within reasonable times.
Walnut is also rich in Omega 3 Fatty Acids. It is recommended for daily use in hair care from within. It is high in Vitamin E, biotin and zinc. It is also high in protein, so it can strengthen the hair stands and reduce hair from falling prematurely while promoting the hair growth cycle, resulting in healthy, bouncy hair.
Avocado is another super food that promotes healthy hair. It is rich in Omega 3 Fatty Acids that can prevent hair loss and increase hair growth naturally. Apart from avocado for your hair growth, this super food can be used on the hair as a hair mask to improve the feel of the hair shaft, leaving it moist and smooth.
Now most persons I ask about lentil peas, often respond by saying “it cooks easily”, and that is the reason its used so frequently at home. But, do you know that lentil peas is another good source of nutrients that promote hair growth and it’s a good source of B vitamin, iron, folic acid, magnesium, zinc and rich protein that can prevent hair loss. Think about eating a little more of lentil, it will assist you in your self-care regime.
These are some of the basic foods that we use on a daily basis, but you may not have thought that they can contribute to maintaining a subtly skin and healthy, bouncy hair.
