Gym instructor uses doc’s $$ to buy Land Rover

Police sources said that earlier this year, the doctor who lives in North Trinidad entrusted $250,000 in cash to the gym instructor who promised to purchase the Audi for her. When he failed to do so, the doctor made a report to the Fraud Squad and a party of officers under Snr Supt Totaram Dookhie and including detective Sgt Cudjoe began enquiries. After weeks of delicate investigations, officers followed a money trail which showed $250,000 was spent by the suspect for the purchase of a Land Rover SUV.

Yesterday at about 2 pm, officer paid surveillance at the Tunapuna Magistrates Court and arrested the gym instructor who was taken to the Fraud Squad in Port-of- Spain where he was questioned and charged by Sgt Cudjoe.
