Life Is Ah Beach fitness race at Rincon
Among the challengers in this Saturday’s four-kilometre race are Fun Runners and Fit Addicts Movement and community health NGOs such as Friends For the Improvement of Tacarigua.
An initiative by Life Is Ah Beach Ltd and sponsored by Flow Trinidad, the run/walk event on Saturday will be set against the backdrop of the beautiful forested landscape of Rincon Village, North Coast Road.
The organisers say it’s race for everyone from the veteran competitor to the fitness enthusiast to the casual walker. It will embody elements of fitness, fun and environmental sustainability as participants will plant a tree after the race in commemoration of the environment and its fit into a balanced healthy lifestyle, said a media release.
The race custodian, Life Is Ah Beach Ltd is a strong advocate for health and wellness and comprises of a dynamic team of professionals dedicated to promoting strategies for the achievement of a healthy, balanced lifestyle for communities through fitness, fun, adventure and appreciation the natural environment. In view of the high rates of obesity and lifestyle diseases such as heart disease and hypertension in TT , the group saw the Flow R3 concept as critical in the quest for a healthier TT , the release said.
“The Flow R3 race is a good opportunity for awareness of the importance of managing one’s health through simple, inexpensive but effective means which incorporate fun, fitness and nature. The race will be phenomenal in its mission to not only provide a forum for competition but one to enlighten and highlight the benefits of physical exercise and the core value of conservation,” Keeda Pantin, brand and events manager for Flow, stated in the release.
“Flow is dedicated to not only bringing high valued affordable services to clients but also alternatives for a healthy lifestyle.” The Defence Force Physical Training Department in keeping with its philanthropic mandate of community development through sport and fitness will also be assisting in the race to ensure safety and quality.
Other sponsors for the race are Cheryl Ryan Mohammed of Its Ah Wrap... Beach Concepts, Lizbliz Entertainment, Caribbean Awards and School Supplies, Mikes Bikes Ltd and Rainbow Warriors Triathlon Club.
There will be surprise acts at the race such as Fitness Addicts Movement (FAM) Dance Fitness CEO, Daniel Philip.
“The concept of a healthy in a healthy body is the philosophy of Flow R3 and this mantra is a major commitment of FAM. Our new Dance For Fitness techniques will spice up the race and I assure you patrons will be pleased,” Philip said
