Ottley strokes half-century in losing effort

Ottley hit 53 but it was not enough to save his team from a 98-run defeat against the Richards XI as preparations continue for the Professional Cricket League four-day season which commences next month. Chasing 240 for victory after the Richards XI were dismissed in their second innings for just 148, the Ottley XI batsmen struggled badly again with only the skipper showing some resistance. Jeremy Solozano added 30 and Nicholas Alexis had 20 in what was a tough time for the batsmen. Marlon Richards (2/36) and Imran Khan (2/19) were the main wicket-takers.

The Richards XI were previously dismissed for 148 in 55.4 overs. Kelon Lynch led his team with 42 while Jyd Goolie scored 36 and Daniel Williams added 24. Kerwyn Sirju (4/14), Roshon Primus (2/17) and Akeel Seetal (2/34) were among the wickets.
