Mom stabbed for refusing to go to supermarket

Mother of two Mindy Ramsey of Todds Road in Chaguanas remains warded at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex (EW MSC) in Mt Hope in a stable condition.

The 30-year-old suspect of Phyllis Lane in Enterprise, Chaguanas remains on the run from police.

A police report stated that at about 8.30 am on Friday, the man visited the home of Ramsey and demanded that she accompany him to a supermarket to purchase items for their baby.

When she refused, the unemployed man became enraged and stabbed Ramsey in the chest and neck with a kitchen knife. Police said that he fled the scene, leaving the wounded housewife to fend for herself.

She made a report to the Longdenville Police Post and was subsequently taken to hospital. Both her children — the three month old and another who is three years old, were at the house at the time of the attack but were unharmed. Constable Seerattan is investigating.
