Hinkson beats Nwokolo in Subway Tennis

Hinkson defeated Ebolum Nwokolo one of the favourites to win the category. After losing the first set 2-4, Hinkson fought back to win the next set 4-2 and prevailed 10-8 in the super tie break.

Nwokolo is still expected to advance to the knockout phase of the competition. Also recording a hard fought win was Kato Oura who got past Sebastian Sylvester 3-5, 4-0, 13-11.

In the girls U-14 round robin, Janay Sealy and Aralia Blackman both won three-setters.

Sealy outlasted Isabella D’Arcy 4-2, 3-5, 10-4, while Blackman defeated Chelsea Riley-Moodoo 1-4, 4-1, 10-5.

The tournament continues on Friday and Saturday, before finishing on Sunday.
