Lime under plum tree ends on sour note

The victim, Geng Lobin, remained up to yesterday, warded in a serious but stable condition at the San Fernando General Hospital,.

Police reports state that at about 5 pm on Sunday, Lobin was cooking a meal in the yard of a fellow resident at Killdeer Trace, off the Tabaquite Road, Rio Claro, as part of a get-together with a group of people.

While in the yard, under a plum tree, several shots rang out and they scampered for safety.

The report added that Lobin, who lives a short distance away, felt a burning sensation and upon checking discovered he was shot in his back. Lobin is a gardener and was married a year ago.

The wounded man was rushed to the Rio Claro Health Facility and later transferred to the hospital.

The gunman, who police believe was hiding in a nearby bushy area, fled the scene.

A motive is yet to be established and officers of the Rio Claro Police Station are continuing investigations.
