Lawrence fights young Jamaican tonight
Lawrence, who will face young ambitious Jamaican pugilist Jermaine Bowen, declared: “This is going to be my magnificent seven.” Bowen has a modest record of 3-1.
Tonight’s fight will be under the WBC Youth Pro League held under chairman of the WBC amateur and Youth Pro League, Boxu Potts.
Potts stated: “Should Sheldon win this fight, he is going to be one fight away from contesting for the WBC international title. At the rate he is progressing, he could be looking at a World title shot as early as next year March.” Lawrence added: “I am satisfied with my fitness level and I am increasing my technique daily, every time I attend the gym I learn something new. I am going to look for an early knockout in this fight, I am going to search for the openings an whatever that presents itself, I’ll take it.” When asked about any intelligence gathered about his opponent, Lawrence took a more simplistic approach.
“ I am going to treat him like the one standing in my way of success,” he said.
