Teens arrested in ganja plantation

The teenagers, of Limefruit Road, Freeport, were arrested by officers of the Central Division after they were found tending to plants in a marijuana plantation located in a forested area.

Over 500 fully grown marijuana trees and seedlings were seized and destroyed during the operation, police reported yesterday.

In a similar exercise in Gran Couva yesterday, officers also seized 157 kilos of cocaine with a street value of over $450,000.

They also seized 150 kilograms of marijuana with a street value of $180,000. The exercise was led by Snr Supt Mc Intyre and Supt Smith.
