16 held in PoS raid

According to reports officers under the supervision of Superintendent Boxhill and led by ASP Ajith Persad and including Acting SGT Anthony Williams and others, carried out the massive operation in the city which saw several drug dens being raided, as well as apartments where alleged illicit activities take place.

Officers detained 16 persons for a series of offences, including robberies, store breaking and larceny, burglaries, and others on outstanding warrants.

The exercise follows similar exercises being carried out in the city to deal with crime and other illegal activities.

Newsday understands that the days leading up to the Yuletide season officers of the Port-of-Spain CID will increase foot patrols and mingle with shoppers as a deterrent to any planned criminal activity.
