Police probe love triangle link in Jhinoo’s murder

Police investigators told Newsday that they are working on information that Jhinoo was reportedly romantically involved with a co-worker at the ARC which incurred the wrath of a third party.

Yesterday, Delford Carabon, president of the ARC, told Newsday that Jhinoo last turned up for work on Tuesday and he did not appear distressed or concerned about anything.

He said he last saw and spoke with Jhinoo on Monday because Jhinoo was preparing a health and safety manual for the ARC and, during his 15 minute meeting with him he suggested some changes to the manual.

According to Carabon Jhinoo was practically working seven days a week and his heart was in the business of horse racing.

He said Jhinoo will be sadly missed and confirmed that there are rumours circulating among employees about the murder.

He said homicide officers interviewed staff yesterday and on Wednesday and he was awaiting the outcome of the investigation.

At about 8.45 pm on Wednesday, police officers on patrol saw a Hyundai vehicle parked between the Arima Race Track and a housing development.

The car’s engine was running, the air condition on and the driver slumped in the driver’s seat. When officers made a check, they found Jhinoo’s body with chop wounds. Nothing appeared to be stolen from him prompting police to believe that robbery was not the motive.
