Baby Kailee will be alright, vow relatives

“She has always been alright,” said one relative.

“She has six grandparents who have been helping take care of her since she was born and all her relatives are with her.” They added that she has always had a lot of family members around her and has frequently visited her grandparents in Arouca and in Arima. Now those relatives are ensuring that she is getting everything that she needs while still coming to terms with the deaths of their loved ones.

Relatives said because of her age, Kailee-Anne is not fully aware of what happened, but family members have been keeping her in high spirits since the accident.

Just before midday on Sunday, Nicholson, 20, and Frederick, 24, were killed when their white Nissan Tiida flipped several times on the Churchill Roosevelt Highway, near PriceSmart.

Police reports indicate that Frederick was driving when he tried to make a sudden stop and lost control of the car.

He and Nicholson died at the scene after being thrown from the careening car.

An autopsy done at the Forensic Science Centre in St James confirmed that the couple died from multiple blunt force trauma injuries consistent with a car accident.

Relatives said the funeral is expected to be held on Friday.
