Speak out against conduct

Many people just accept this. But if we are going to progress as a nation or want others to respect us we must come to the place where right is right and wrong is wrong; being able to declare the truth without fear or favour.

I was most disappointed listening to people defend OWTU leader Ancel Roget’s statement to BP, “Take your rig and go.” I cannot see how we can be crying out for investors on one hand and a leader who should know better making such a statement the other.

What makes matters worse is that people are defending him. Well, we are well aware of what BP did.

Let us face it, this type of behaviour seems to characterise several of our leaders when things do not go their way or they are displeased.

They need to know how to control themselves for in the end many can suffer because of their arrogance.

As citizens, let us insist that those who are put to lead are held accountable for their conduct wherever they are.

When we say nothing or condone this type of conduct we are helping to pull down the country. There must be honest and sincere voices refusing to accept degrading conduct that reaches all over the world. Let us push our leaders to a new level of leadership.
