Apologise to the UWI, PM

The utterances so far by Minister of Education Anthony Garcia in Parliament and via a press release of his ministry show total lack of insight and diplomacy.

A few years ago, there was strong condemnation by the then opposition when then prime minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar prematurely announced the granting of the Order of Trinidad and Tobago to former prime ministers Patrick Manning and Basdeo Panday.

Both men had not been informed of the nominations at the time of the announcement and thus did not accept the national awards.

Please apologise before the University Council meeting is held today.
