Image before the millions
Image is everything and the Murdoch image is sacrosanct.
Nobody is greater than your advertisers.
Amen.
Once the landslide of popular name brands turned into an avalanche because of the leak of payments by the Fox News channel in the US, owned by Murdoch, to accusers of sexual harassment by TV host Bill O’Reilly, he was toast.
There comes a time in any organisation when image trumps popularity.
You can always find another talented employee waiting in the wings. And as always, the show must go on.
Sexual harassment of female staffers in TT is only now being addressed as important to the image of a thriving company. Sexual harassment cannot and will not be condoned.
Males who are aspiring to make their mark in private enterprise or in politics in TT should take serious note of what happens when you take unfair and deliberate advantage of women.
There is a general election due in 2020. It is my hope that no candidate should have allegations of sexual harassment against their name.
An aberration in a First World country should not be excused in TT as, “Is only joke he making. He ent mean anything bad when he did touch she.” Read my lips and learn, “Dem days over.”
