Moonilal claims new ‘bobol’ at Petrotrin
Moonilal made his claims during his contribution to debate on a private motion on unemployment in the House of Representatives.
He also alleged that the auditing firm of Ernest and Young was being paid $1 million to conduct audits on different state entities during the time that the People’s Partnership (PP) coalition was in office. He claimed those audits, “have found nothing”.
Earlier in the sitting, Moonilal asked Speaker Bridgid Annisette- George for a stern letter to be written to Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley for his failure to answer a question on the Order Paper about these audits. Moonilal rejected accusations made by People’s National Movement (PNM) MPs about the affairs at the National Gas Company (NGC) under the PP. He countered that the controversial Beetham Wastewater project (now in arbitration) was conceptualised by the PNM in 2005 and the NGC built pavillions before 2010.
Claiming that a new First Citizens IPO has “collapsed,” Moonilal said this showed the Government had no economic plan. Boasting that several economic initiatives now taking place in TT started under the PP, Moonilal quipped, “The problem with this government is not dollars, it’s sense.”
