Second woman charged in burnt body murder

She is charged that between June 7 and June 11, 2014, she murdered Alleyne, 27, at Forres Park, Claxton Bay. Last week Thursday, Gloria Chin, 27, of Hackette Extension Road, Navet Village, San Fernando and Kamal Khan, 26, of Solidad Road, Claxton Bay, appeared before another magistrate for Alleyne’s murder. They were remanded into custody.

Alleyne was the nephew of former Assistant Commissioner of Police Carlton Alleyne and he went missing from his home on June 7. His burnt body was found under debris on June 14, 2014, in the landfill. His relatives identified him on June 23, by means of dental records, hair texture and bone fragments from the spine.

Detectives from the Homicide Investigations Bureau (Region III) worked for three years on the case and two weeks ago, arrested Chin and Khan.

Thatcher was arrested on Sunday and charged with Alleyne’s murder.
