One chop killed housewife
Grieving husband Sadiq Mohammed, 40, who made the gruesome discovery around midday on Wednesday, was in the company of other relatives at the Centre awaiting the autopsy result on his wife. Sadiq had to be taken for medical attention after seeing the body.
The couple was married for 20 years and Savitri would have turned 55 next month. They had no children. Police reported that at midday on Wednesday, Sadiq returned to his Bonne Aventure Road, Gasparillo home after a visit to the bank only to see his wife’s body sprawled on their bed with her throat chopped. Robbery was ruled out as a motive as investigators said the house was not broken into and nothing was missing.
Relatives said Savitri and Sadiq had a happy marriage. They are all baffled as to who would want her dead and in such a brutal manner.
One month ago, Savitri left her job at a popular cosmetic store in San Fernando where she had worked for years. Her funeral is scheduled for tomorrow morning at her home.
