Businesswoman murdered in bedroom

Sieuchand owned and operated a pharmacy at St Helena in Piarco.

Central Division police received reports of a disturbance at Ring Road in Lange Park at about 3 am and went to Sieuchand’s house. Police entered the house and found Sieuchand’s body in a bedroom. Although the house was ransacked, police said, valuables including cash were not stolen. Sieuchand, a mother and grandmother, lived alone after her husband passed away. An autopsy performed by pathologist Dr Hughvon des Vignes at the Forensic Science Center in St James, confirmed she died as a result of stab wounds to the right side of her neck and stomach.

Relatives were afraid to speak on the issue saying as no arrest was made they are afraid the killer/s could come for them as well. “We don’t know the motive.

We prefer not to give details because we do not want to put the family in more danger. She owned and operated a pharmacy since 1981. She built the business from scratch,” said a relative.

Others who gathered at the Centre and who claimed to be friends of the woman described her as hard-working individual.

Police including Sgt Francis, Cpl King and others are conducting investigations.
