Disrespectful traffic warden

However, the warden proceeded to insult me, asking, “Yuh see de sign?” I responded, “Yes but…” Before I could finish, she said, “Well go yuh way.” I asked if it was appropriate for her to behave in such a manner and she said, “Well you stand up dey and watch meh whole day.” It is unbelievable that citizens are subjected to such disrespectful behaviour from a traffic warden.

Wardens should have excellent people skills and the ability to handle whatever situations arise.

I, or anyone for that matter, should not be abused by a warden who lacks basic communication skills. I understand they are doing their jobs. However, there is a right way to communicate with citizens and verbal abuse is not it.

Can the Minister of Works and Transport look into the behaviour of people issuing tickets to the public? There should be regular training for such people to ensure their manners are up to standard.
