Pirates at fun village in Santa Cruz

The theme for this weekend’s event is Pirates of the Eastern Caribbean featuring games such as walk the plank, cannon ball toss and the infamous treasure hunt.

In addition, there are prizes for most authentic pirate costume but there will also be eye patches and bandanas on sale, as well as the rental of pirate costumes for the day.

Organisers say that all the favourite fun things will be available including bouncy castles, the climbing wall, slides, the mechanical bull and the double splash water slide for the water buddies.

Other activities include face-painting, balloons, arts and craft section with the wax hand moulding machine, choo choo train, go-karts, Carnival games and pictures in your own pirate ship with Captain Hook and SpongeBob, adding excitement for adults and kids alike.

Co-ordinator Elizabeth Gordon told Newsday she was particularly excited about getting the Fun Village going.

The village will around the country during the vacation period to areas such as San Fernando, Arima and Port of Spain and will offer special Friday openings for camps.
