Father of three dies

Clifford Samuel, 52, was doused with the flammable liquid at about 5.30 pm by 37-year-old Anika La Rose who set both herself and Samuel on fire at his Arouca home. La Rose died at the scene while Samuel was taken to hospital. Doctors told relatives due to the severity of his burns, there was a slim chance of him surviving. The fire also destroyed three houses on the compound and left eight people homeless .

The couple was in a relationship for over eight years and had three children together .
