TT, China to sign deal for vessel

Foreign and Caricom Affairs Minister Dennis Moses and Chinese Ambassador to this country Song Yumin will sign the loan agreement on behalf of TT and China respectively.

A statement issued yesterday by the ministry said the loan is for the TTS Nelson II which arrived in the country in October 2015.

Moves to acquire this vessel started under the former People’s Partnership government.

The ministry said this was part of ongoing bilateral cooperation in security between TT and China. The framework agreement signed between both governments set the foundation for the finalisation of a concessional loan agreement in relation to the vessel.
