Pan exhibition goes south today

The display is one of the activities in commemoration of the 25th Anniversary of the declaration of the steelpan as the national instrument of Trinidad Tobago.

Dozens of photographs, courtesy the Ministry of Community Development, Culture and the Arts will be mounted. These are in addition of the display by the Steelpan Tuners’ Guild of Trinidad and Tobago, which traces the history and development of the steelpan. South-based steelbands, NLCB Fonclaire, Old Tech Steel Orchestra and Kalomo Kings will entertain visitors to the event.

In continuing with the observance of Pan Month, the South/ Central Region of Pan Trinbago will be presenting A Nation’s Pride, featuring Skiffle Steel Orchestra, Couva Joylanders, Pan Elders, Fusion Steel and Tropical Angel Harps, on August 27, at the Couva Joylanders Pan Yard, Railway Road, Couva.
