ChariTT initiative helps TT to ‘Give Change. Make Change’

With the country’s current economic climate, local Non Governmental Organisations (NGOs) continue to face an uphill task in terms of acquiring funding for their respective projects and initiatives. The Woodbrook-based start-up company, founded by business partners Christian Torry and Steven Valdez, is seeking to help solve that issue – fostering a sense of community support and volunteerism by removing some of the key obstacles that impact on fund-raising efforts.

MyPay’s ChariTT initiative, launched on August 28, facilitates the donation of funds to charitable organisations and essentially simplifies the giving process. This is made possible through the National Lotteries Control Board (NLCB) / VIA network powered by the MyPay Payment Solutions platform, which leverages the NLCB’s established nationwide network of Lotto Centres. Through ChariTT, members of the public can simply walk into any VIA outlet/NLCB Lotto Centre nationwide and, with as little as $1, make a contribution to any one of the registered NGO’s within a matter of minutes.

However, according to Tahera Dolsingh, manager of MyPay Payment Solutions Limited, the accessibility and convenience of giving is just one aspect of the issue.
