Housewife on drug charge

A 50-YEAR-old housewife was arrested on a drug charge after police raided her Penal home yesterday and allegedly discovered 100 grammes of weed hidden in a wardrobe. The woman, of Beckles Street, is expected to appear in the Siparia Magistrates court today, while a warrant has been issued for the arrest of her 30-year-old son. Police reports indicate that around 10 am Cpl Minors, PCs Haynes, Khan, and Baptiste acting on information went to the woman’s home and executed a warrant to search for narcotics. Upon searching a bedroom, lawmen allegedly found 25 foil packets containing the weed. PC Haynes arrested and charged the housewife with possession of marijuana.
