Panday assisting business?
THE EDITOR: Perhaps the biggest joke of the year is the story carried in Thursday’s edition of your newspaper that featured opposition leader Basdeo Panday meeting with businessmen to hear their views in preparation for the 2003-2004 budget. I would think that any prudent businessman would rather seek an audience with the Prime Minister who is also the Minister of Finance if he wishes to have his concerns addressed. But Panday? Good Lord! The man has been a failure. Probably he is still suffering from political tabanca, and his businessmen supporters still see him as Prime Minister.
I would like to ask any of the businessmen that attended the pre-budget meeting the following questions:
1) Did Panday as Prime Minister seek your views when he was preparing his budgets?
2) If he did, were any of your concerns addressed?
Pray, tell me fellow businessmen, what can Panday do to assist your concerns?
I feel sorry at the sight of his fellow MPs surrounding their failed master. As a businessman my advice to you is to keep far away from failures less you soon become one.
