How to pray by PM
THE EDITOR: I hope Benny Hinn hears about this. So the PM now feels he can dictate to a priest how he should pray at a public function. The prayer by Rev Cyril Paul at the opening of parliament was quite relevant and appropriate, and he should be complimented. But he obviously touched a nerve in Mr Manning’s conscience. That would explain the PM’s reaction. It reminds me of the pharisees in the time of Jesus and their reactions as he went about preaching. It is ironic though that the head of the IRO is a prominent leader in the Presbyterian Church; a church which, rightly or wrongly, has been perceived as a silent supporter of the PNM. Maybe this tantrum by Manning will be a wake up call for the Presbyterian church to get off the fence.
