Simple Touch take Croisee knockout
IN a fitting end to a hard season Simple Touch had to wait 100 minutes to be crowned knockout winners over Bank Village United in the final match of the 2003 Croisee Supermarket St. Mary’s Football League. The two teams were met by Rooplal Rambeharry, manager of Croisee Supermarket Limited, president of the Village Council Mary Jacobs and manager of Ramlogan Sports, Vishnu Ramlogan among others. Cap Off Youths won the Under-16 league and knockout titles. St Mary’s FC were the league runners-up and Ajax in third, while Flamingoes were the beaten knockou finalists. Simple Touch snatched up the last vacant title in the competition with their 1-0 “golden goal” win over Bank Village, collecting $1,000 and a trophy for their effort, Croisee Connection were league winners and received $3,500 and trophy. Prizes were distributed at a ceremony which followed the knockout final. Runners-up Strugglers got $2,000 and Drinkers took home the $700 third prize.
